I am Assistant Professor of Humanities at Dominican University of California, a small, liberal arts institution situated in the San Francisco Bay Area.  My research focuses on the phenomenological and epistemological dimensions of landscape photography, that is, on the ways in which photography is an embodied practice of knowing, understanding, and belonging to land/place. A native of Colorado and Wyoming, I learned how to see, navigate and photograph within the wide-open spaces of the American West.
