As a youth, I learned to see, navigate, and photograph in the wide open spaces of the American West. Later, while making a living as a professor of humanities, I explored the incredible environmental and human diversity of the West Coast, falling in love with the ocean, oak trees, golden rolling hills, the eastern Sierra, and complex neighborhoods in the Bay Area full of people from around the world. No longer in academia and living now in the Southwest, I’m trying to stop gazing at the sky long enough to see who and what is around me! I’ll post new work once I have something to share.
